The inaugural London 12 Bell Striking Competition for the Whitechapel Trophy took place on Saturday 24th October 2009 at St Magnus the Martyr, Lower Thames Street (26-3-9 in D)  The judges were Philip Earis and David Pipe.

Notes on the recordings
An AKG C391B microphone was suspended 4¼ m above the bells and fed an Apogee analogue to digital converter. The judges listened to this feed, which was simultaneously recorded on an Apple MacBook, on Rogers dB101 monitor speakers. These recordings of the feed give a good impression of the bands' performances.
